“Blow” Inspiration, George Jung, Was Released From Prison

George-Jung.

George Jung, also known as Boston George, was finally released from the Otisville Federal Prison today after a long 20 years. He was sentenced due to his cocaine distribution, as told in one of the greatest drug films of our time, “Blow.” Today, 71 year-old George Jung is free to do whatever his heart desires.

George Jung Free At Last

George Jung had it all and lost it all after he was arrested in 1994 by being set-up by one of his former cocaine smuggling partners. At the time of Jung’s arrest, he was in possession of about 1,754 pounds of pure cocaine (that is over $2 million on the street!!). Boston George was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison, but it was clearly shortened after numerous reviews of great behavior and rehabilitation. George Jung became a familiar name to America after his close friend and well known actor, Jonny Depp, basically told his life story through the amazing film, “Blow.” In the film, it showed Boston George’s life’s struggles with cocaine addiction and accomplishments, shedding light on his love and even his daughter. Although he didn’t make the best decisions with his life, all he wanted was to be a good father. He got caught for his mistakes, but Jung paid his dues and is now able to make up for the wrongs of his past. Cudos to you, George Jung, and best wishes for your “new” life.
