Warped Tour And Recovery

Playing on Warped Tour is a big dream of mine one day, but I had to get sober to even start to try and aim towards that. When I was getting high and drinking, I lost all motivation for anything, especially my dreams of becoming a musician. I’ve always gone to Warped Tour and had friends who played it and stuff, but playing in front of that crowd would be amazing. I was surrounded by recovery yesterday and didn’t even realize it. I did see a person or two wearing our friends shirts over at Party Sober Clothing, but in reality, a lot of people were in recovery at Warped Tour.

Warped Tour Or Any Other Goals

When you get clean and sober, the opportunities for your life are endless. No goal or dream is unattainable, because when you put your mind to something, you have the power over whether you can/will achieve it or not. Although I saw a lot of drinking yesterday, it seems to me as though the “rock star life” is not all drugs, sex and drinking. A lot of “rock stars” from Warped Tour yesterday don’t drink or do drugs, and they still have a good time on the road. They even have their own meetings every evening, which is quite inspiring I’d say. It goes to show that when you want something bad enough, you’ll do anything to maintain and achieve it, such as making your own meetings to stay clean and sober at Warped Tour.

Music In Recovery

photo 2Music is a great outlet that can replace what once you used drugs and alcohol for numbing and escaping. Music, art, painting, drawing, anything that uses creativity to ease your mind can be a better outlet than drugs and alcohol. You know what they say, practice makes perfect so just keep on going and achieve your goals. Struggling with drug and alcohol addiction is no way to live and there is a way out. By getting help for yourself and maintaining a life free from drugs and alcohol, good things will come to your life with hard work.
